3 Injured In Route 28 Crash

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Three people were hospitalized Sunday after an accident on Route 28.

Officials say the driver of an SUV lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a concrete barrier.

The crash caused traffic back-ups Sunday afternoon from the Route 28 south on-ramp to the Highland Park Bridge.

The driver reportedly suffered a leg injury. She and two other passengers were taken to nearby hospitals. Weather may have been a factor in the crash.

State police are investigating.
