Landline Phone Service Out In Several Areas

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Telephone service was knocked out for more than 100 homes.

Officials with Verizon say a fiber optic cable was partially cut. Some homes don't have a dial tone and aren't able to call 9-1-1.

The outages affected customers in several communities, including Fox Chapel, O'Hara Township, Indiana Township and Fairview.

Verizon has crews out to make repairs. Service is expected to be restored early Friday morning.
