Alexei Kovalev Talks Penguins Power Play Struggles

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Recently acquired Penguin Alexei Kovalev talked with Joe Starkey of Seibel, Starkey, and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN and discussed the Pens' power play struggles and the adjustment he has been making to the Penguins system.

Kovalev weighed in on the struggling power play saying that they are getting better at getting the puck into the zone, but they still act like it's only a 20 second advantage rather than two minutes, and a lack of patience shows.

When Kovalev was acquired, they were some questions as to whether or not his style of play would fit into the Penguins system, and Alexei told Joe that he hasn't had a lot of shots because he needs the puck more and he's not comfortable just throwing shots at the net.

Alexei also talked about his first run with the Pens and the 5 OT game they played against the Flyers saying it was really tiring and by the last two overtimes, they didn't even care who won, they just wanted the game to end.
