Robbery Possible Motive In Squirrel Hill Murder

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The 90-year-old man killed inside his home in Squirrel Hill lived alone and police say there are no signs of a break-in.

Cuddy Briskin was found dead by a family member. He had been beaten about the head and a plastic bag had been placed over his head. He was sitting in his living room. An afghan was over his legs, the television was on and Mr. Briskin had been eating dinner.

Sources tell KDKA-TV police are looking for as many as three suspects from the McKeesport area. Robbery may have been the motive. The suspects reportedly believed there was $100,000 inside the house.

Even at 90, Mr. Briskin often went to work at Briskin Furs in Aspinwall, a business he once owned, which is now owned by his nephew.

He still played tennis and collected antique cars. He owned about a dozen.

So far no arrests have been made.
