Gunman Opens Fire On Car In Wilkinsburg

WILKINSBURG (KDKA) -- Police are looking for a gunman after a 28-year-old man from Garfield was shot three times while he sat in his car in Wilkinsburg on Tuesday.

The victim was on South Avenue when his car either ran out of gas or had a malfunction, KDKA-TV's Ralph Iannotti reports.

A man ran up to the car and shot through the driver's side window. The victim was shot in the arm, thigh and his neck was grazed by a bullet.

The gunman ran off down Coal Street.

The victim managed to get out of his car and ran several blocks to the Monro Muffler Shop on Penn Avenue where he collapsed in a chair.

Mike Snead was in the shop at the time and said the man was bleeding profusely.

KDKA's Ralph Iannotti reports:

"I tried to keep him awake after he slumped over in the chair," he said. "He was going in and out consciousness, and he was bleeding pretty heavily."

The assist manager of the shop said the man ran in through the door, saying he didn't know who shot him.

This is second time a shooting victim has run into the same muffler shop. A similar incident happened in February.

KDKA's Heather Abraham reports:
