Steel City Insider Publisher Jim Wexell Talks Draft
Jim Wexell joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN as the NFL Draft is just three days away.
We opened things up with Wexell asking him the obvious question, what position will the Steelers draft in the first round? This question led into a conversation about Ike Taylor since his contract status means the Steelers might be looking to draft a Cornerback in the first round to replace him. Jim doesn't feel as though the Steelers made a mistake by not locking up Taylor since they didn't know what was happening with the CBA and Taylor had already expressed an interest in coming back.
Another player the Steelers might lose is Willie Colon and Jim told us about his future with the team given that Flozell Adams has stated he wants to come back if he can start at Right Tackle.
Jim also took some time to help us try to understand the lockout better, and how it may affect the Steelers draft strategy.
We wrapped things up with Jim getting his impression of certain players that are likely on the Steelers draft board.
