9/11 Memorial Flag Raised At McKeesport Fire Station

MCKEESPORT (KDKA) – A special flag was raised at a McKeesport fire station Monday morning after the death of Osama bin Laden.

McKeesport Firefighters Chris Cerci and Jimmy Young raised the 9/11 memorial flag after learning that United States forces had killed Bin Laden in Pakistan.

"He killed thousands of innocent lives and to me he got exactly what he deserved and he's probably going to spend the rest of eternity where he deserves to spend it," Cerci said.

The two drove overnight to New York after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, to help with the search efforts.

During their initial three-day stay, they experienced the grim task of recovering body parts in the rubble of the World Trade Center.

Many of the bodies were those of fellow New York firefighters, who responded to the attack.

They were relieved to hear the military finally caught up with the mastermind of the plot.

"The hide and seek world champion is now dead and to me that's awesome," Young said. "The American forces that put that together, Obama giving the green light to go ahead into Pakistan, priceless."
