Search For Missing Slippery Rock Creek Fisherman Continues
PORTERSVILLE (KDKA) -- Efforts to locate a missing fisherman in the fast-moving waters of Slippery Rock Creek have shifted from rescue to recovery.
John Latulippe, 38, of Glenshaw was fly-fishing Saturday when he slipped into the water at McConnells Mill State Park in Lawrence County.
Two bystanders tossed flotation devices in the water, but Latulippe was unable to grab hold. He was last seen in the area of the McConnells Mill Bridge.
A team of 50 volunteers and emergency responders searched all weekend. Park officials say it's too dangerous to put divers in the fast-moving water.
