Chartiers Valley Students Evacuated Over Gas Odor

BRIDGEVILLE (KDKA) -- Students at the Chartiers Valley middle school and high school were evacuated from the complex this morning because of a gas odor.

The students were evacuated to the stadium.

According to the Chartiers Valley School District website, the odor was detected on the third floor of the high school.

Officials with the fire department and utility company completed an inspection after all the gas lines were shut off. The smell dissipated quickly.

The district reports that inspectors have given the all clear for students to return to the building.
