Hazelwood Shooting Probed
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police continue to investigate following a shooting Wednesday evening in Hazelwood that sent a teenager to the hospital.
The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 4900-block of Second Avenue near the Rite Aid and S&R Mart.
The 15-year-old victim was reportedly shot in the temple.
According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, investigators say the teen was wounded while riding in a car.
Officials say he was conscious and alert when taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment. The Post-Gazette reports that the victim suffered a fractured skull and the bullet got lodged near his jaw.
As of early this morning, no arrests had been made in the case.
