Crash Snarls Interstate 279 Traffic

OHIO TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A tractor-trailer accident on the southbound side of Interstate 279 temporarily closed both lanes early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the accident happened around 3:30 a.m. near Mt. Nebo Road.

A Rite Aid truck overturned and dumped some of its load onto the roadway.

Both lanes have since reopened and traffic is moving slowly through the area.

After failing to negotiate a left curve in the road, the truck rolled onto its passenger side and slid for about 25  feet.

The driver of the truck has been identified as 63-year-old Dennis Keitzer of Vandergrift. He suffered minor injuries in the crash.
