Storm Causes Flash Flood In Penn Hills

PENN HILLS (KDKA) -- A storm caused flash flooding on a busy road in Penn Hills.

The water rushed through the parking lots in the 600-block of Rodi Road.

At the height of the flooding, traffic came to a complete stop.

Some cars and vans trying to travel through the water were stranded.

Avis had to move their rental cars to the back of the building so they would not be underwater as well.

Business owners say flooding in the area is a problem.

"It was about a foot deep," Steve Parco, with Allegheny Co. Customs, said. "You can see the lines – it was all the way up. I was worried about it getting into the doors, so it got maybe almost up to the garage doors, but it's already been in the building."

The water was too much for the storm drains which are now filled with debris. Business owners are now cleaning up their parking lots.
