Woman Rescued After Porch Collaspe In Reserve Township

RESERVE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A woman had to be rescued after her porch collapsed.

This happened in the 2800-block of Mt. Troy Road in Reserve Township.

Emergency officials at the scene told KDKA-TV the woman's cement porch broke away.

"The occupant of the house – the porch collapsed on top of her," Mt. Troy Volunteer Fire Department Chief Dan Walsh said. "She was pinned under some debris."

The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was stuck under the porch for about 30 minutes.

"We just had to shore the rest of the porch up to make sure all the rescuers were safe to go in and get her out," Walsh explained.

She was taken to a local hospital. She suffered a broken ankle and may have broken other bones.

Building inspectors went to the scene to check out the situation. The woman's animals were removed from the house.
