Frank Coonelly Discusses Pirates' Expectations On Trade Deadline

PITTSBURGH (Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN) -- Pirates President Frank Coonelly joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller live at Mullen's on the North Shore to give his thoughts on "Jock Wash," as well as the product on the field.

Frank said the way the North Shore looked today in anticipation of the Red Sox series is the way it should look every game day, packed with fans.

Frank also addressed the influence Manager Clint Hurdle has had over the team, and the way he has been able to impose discipline with the players, while also being able to keep the players motivated.

We also asked Coonelly about Chase d'Arnaud getting the call-up from Indianapolis for this series, making his major league debut right away at third base and hitting second in the order.

We wrapped things up talking about the upcoming trade deadline, and Frank told us that General Manager Neal Huntington is doing everything he can right now to upgrade the roster with another bat, and is also looking at improving the team at catcher given all the injuries at that position.
