Man Wounded In Overnight New Castle Shooting

NEW CASTLE (KDKA) -- Police are investigating following a shooting overnight in Lawrence County that sent one man to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

According to the New Castle Police Department, the incident happened just after midnight on South Ray Street.

Police identify the victim as 31-year-old Charles Zduniak of New Castle.

He was taken by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, with a gunshot wound to the back/shoulder area. He was last listed in serious condition.

Investigators say Zduniak was shot after getting out of his vehicle in the parking lot of Charlie's Bar. He reportedly ran to a nearby home following the incident.

Police say they believe that three shots may have been fired and the suspect and victim may have known each other.
