Road Construction Continues On 2 Major Roads

PITTSBURGH (KDKA – Road construction and lane closures will continue on two of the area's busiest roads.

Motorists can expect lane closures nightly on Route 50 in the South Hills.

Crews will be working from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

There are also restrictions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the week.

The work is part of a project to rehab a three-mile stretch from Bridgeville to Carnegie.

Also, drivers in the North Hills can expect delays on McKnight Road.

PennDOT began working on the road last week. Currently, they are working on the bridge over Babcock Boulevard.

The road will be reduced to a single lane at night in both directions.

The entire project runs from the bridge to Perrymont Road near McIntyre Square.

The project is expected to continue until the fall.
