Police Make Arrest In Bullskin Township Burglaries

BULLSKIN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- One of two people wanted in connection with a string of burglaries in Bullskin Township in Fayette County has been arrested.

Daniel Ward is being charged with theft, burglary and conspiracy.

An arrest warrant has also been issued for Sommer Inks.

The neighborhood is made up of homes and summer camps.

The suspects broke into the homes by kicking doors and stole whatever they could find.

Ray Mackey says thieves stole guns, jewelry and a TV set from his home. Lisa Essay had similar items stolen from her home.

Sources say Ward, Inks and perhaps a third person had been squatting in the summer camps. Police found blankets on the windows, candles, flashlights and drug paraphernalia associated with heroin addiction.

Ward was nearly shot on Wednesday when he broke into a home. The owner pointed a gun at him. He managed to escape before any shots were fired.

State police in Uniontown are handling the investigation.
