Penguins Sign Valabik To 2-Way Deal

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Penguins added some size to their defense corps Sunday afternoon.

According to the Penguins' official website, the team has signed Boris Valabik to a one-year, two-way deal for $550,000.

The 6-foot-7, 245-pound defenseman was selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers.

In 80 NHL games, Valabik has seven assists and 210 penalty minutes.

He has also played 184 games in the AHL and has recorded four goals, 27 assists and 633 penalty minutes.
