Crews Respond To Banksville Water Main Break
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Crews were called to the scene of a large water main break in Pittsburgh's Banksville neighborhood Monday morning.
According to emergency dispatchers, the the six-inch line broke around 8:30 a.m. on Wenzell Avenue.
Traffic is backing up in the area and the road may be buckling.
Water rushed down the street and into one resident's basement.
"This is probably the fourth water main break in the last year-and-a-half," Joyce Crock said. :These are all old pipes. Old, old, old pipes. I mean, this is, my house was built in 1950, and I think mine's one of the newer ones."
Some residents said they have signed up for extra insurance in case of another break in the future.
