Pirates Sign Escobar

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- The Pirates have spent some more money in the international market.

The Bucs have signed Venezuelan center fielder Elvis Escobar for $570,000.

Over the weekend, the team signed outfielder Harold Ramirez to a deal worth over $1 million.

Escobar is 16 years old and is a 5-9, 165 pound, left-handed hitter.

Escobar has good blood lines for baseball, his father Jose played with Cleveland, his brother Edwin signed with the Giants in 2008 and his cousins are former MLB pitcher Kelvim and current Kansas City shortstop Alcides.
