Superintendent: Not Lowering Standards For Student Athletes
PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -- Chris Moore talks with Dr. Linda Lane, Superintendent of Pittsburgh Public Schools, about School Board Member Mark Brentley's charge that the District is lowering academic standards for student athletes to allow them to continue playing sports.
Dr. Lane discusses the implementation of a probationary period for students whose grades fall below 2.0, and answers the charge that changing the standards would essentially be giving up on African American students.
