2 Men Charged With Breaking Into Dead Man's Home

FAYETTE CITY (KDKA) -- Two men are accused of breaking into the home of a man who recently died.

Buddy Ferris, 71, the owner of the house on Second Street, was found dead on Saturday.

"No foul play at all. He died of natural causes," Fayette City Police Chief Larry Wilson said.

Ferris was found in his driveway.

On Monday, 50-year-old Douglas Hamer and 48-year-old Francis Demarco allegedly broke into his house.

They reportedly took the air conditioning unit out of the window, crawled through the space and closed the window.

The police chief says the men stole liquor, coins and a military bayonet.

"People that break into dead people's houses have to be pathetic," Brittany Morrison, a neighbor, said.

Both men are in the Fayette County Prison on $20,000 straight bond.
