Headlines From Day 1 Of Steeler Camp

PITTSBURGH (KDKA)- Plenty of news happened on reporting day for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Here's a recap of the highlights:
*Left tackle Max Starks and wide receiver Antwaan Randle El were released.

*Right tackle Willie Colon and right tackle Jonathan Scott signed new contracts. Scott signs a two-year deal while Colon agrees to a 5-year, $29 million ($6 million signing bonus).

*Wide receiver Hines Ward and guard Chris Kemoeatu were placed on the physically-unable-to-perform list until they are healthy. Ward is recovering from thumb surgery while Kemoeatu has swelling in his knee.

*Team has signed five of their seven draft picks. Offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert, cornerback Cortez Allen, linebacker Chris Carter, offensive guard Keith Williams and running back Baron Batch all signed four-year deals. First-round pick Cameron Heyward and third-round pick Curtis Brown remain unsigned.

*93.7 FM "The Fan" announced an agreement with safety Ryan Clark to host a one-hour weekly show. "The Ryan Clark Show" will debut 6 p.m. Sept. 6 and continue through the end of the regular season.

*Two players were unable to get through the traditional run test: wide receiver Limas Sweed and running back Jonathan Dwyer.

*Steelers lost two unrestricted free agents: TE Matt Spaeth signed with Chicago while DT Nick Eason is heading to Arizona.
