Pitt Opens Training Camp Today

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- The Todd Graham officially starts today as the Pitt Panthers will host Media Day and then hold their first practice.

Despite being in his first season, expectations are high for Graham and his "high-octane" brand of football.

Graham's history suggests that the Pitt offense will put points on the scoreboard.

*2006 w/Rice: Graham's offense increased their scoring from 21 to 28 points per game.

*2008 w/Tulsa: Averaged 569.9 yards and 47.1 points per game and scored 661 points, the second highest single-season total in the NCAA's modern era.

*2010 w/Tulsa: the Golden Hurricane averaged 505.6 yards per game and 41.4 points.

The biggest beneficiaries of this wide open offense will be quarterback Tino Sunseri, running back Ray Graham and the group of wide receivers.

Here's the group of Panther wide receivers for the upcoming season: Mike Shanahan, Devin Street, Cam Saddler, Ed Tinker, Salath Williams, Kevin Weaherspoon, Drew Carswell, Ronald Jones, Darius Patton, Brendon Felder, Joshua Brinson and Justin Jackson.

The first game of the 2011 season is September 3rd vs. Buffalo.

What are your thoughts and expectations for the 2011 Pitt Panthers?
