Man Barricaded In Indiana County Home Surrenders

DIXONVILLE (KDKA) — A man who kept police at bay for several hours has surrendered.

It happened at Barrslope and Kirkland Roads in Dixonville.

The man was believed to be home alone with dozens of weapons.

Police say it all started when the man talked to his estranged wife this morning and told her he was going to take his life and burn the house down.

She then called police which led to the standoff.

Police say the man turned himself in at about 5:30 p.m.

"Our special emergency response team members were able to successfully call out from an audible system and make contact with [the man] at that time," State Trooper John Matchick said. "[He] then voluntarily emerged from his residence and surrendered to our personnel on scene without incident."
