Police Arrest 15-Year-Old In String Of Burglaries

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police say they have arrested a teenager in connection with a string of recent burglaries in Shadyside.

The 15-year-old, who is from Shadyside, is being held at Shuman Detention Center.

Police say he is facing numerous charges including 13 counts of burglary, eight counts of theft and 10 counts of criminal conspiracy.

According to investigators, the burglaries happened in the early hours of the morning, with the first happening on June 20 and the last on August 7.

Police report that window screens had been cut in several of the incidents.

The Pittsburgh Police Burglary Squad estimates as much as $120,000 worth of jewelry, electronics - like cell phones and laptops – as well as vehicles were taken in the incidents. Officials say all the vehicles that were taken have been found.

The investigation continues and police say more charges could be filed and arrests could be made.
