Suspect Held For Trial In Ligonier Bar Shooting

LIGONIER (KDKA) --A man from Texas who is facing charges in a deadly shooting at a bar in Westmoreland County last month was in court today for a hearing.

Stephen Fromholz, 40, was held for trial in connection with the incident at Fat Daddy's Bar in Ligonier on July 11. He was charged with criminal homicide.

According to investigators, Fromholz had only been in the bar for about 10 minutes when he allegedly became angry over what was on the television.

Patrons thought the situation had resolved itself until minutes later, when investigators say Fromholz went to his truck and returned with a semi-automatic rifle.

Donald Holler, 65, suffered a gunshot wound to the back and died from his injuries in the shooting.

Some patrons were able to tackle the suspect to the ground and kept him there until police arrived.

No trial date has been set.
