Robbie Grossman: 100/100 Club

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Pirates minor league prospect OF Robbie Grossman has joined some exclusive company.

Last night Grossman became the first minor leaguer since Nick Swisher in 2004 to score 100 runs and walk 100 times in a season (he's the first player in the Florida State League to do so since 1998).

Grossman currently ranks first in walks and second in runs scored in all of minor league baseball (just one run behind the overall leader). He leads the Florida State League in runs (111), walks (100) and games (120) and ranks second in OBP (.424).

He has also reached base safely in a Florida State League season high 42 straight games and in 79 of his last 80 games.

Tim Williams of Piratesprospects.com has Grossman ranked as one of the Pirates Top 10 prospects.

Back in 2008, the Pirates drafted Grossman in the 6th round and spent alot of money to get him out of his verbal commitment to the University of Texas.
