Search Teams Comb Bear Run For Missing Woman

STEWART TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A search and rescue team is looking for a missing woman in Fayette County.

Debra Meyers, 47, of Morgantown, W. Va., was last seen hiking at the Bear Run Nature Reserve near Ohiopyle.

"To the best of my knowledge, her cell phone was left in her car and the last time the cell phone had been used was the 19th of August," Fayette County Sheriff Gary Brownfield said.

A family member reported her missing at about 3 p.m. Tuesday. They hold out hope as the search continues.

Brownfield said they searched until about 3 a.m. Wednesday and resumed at about six hours later.

"We'll continue to search as long as we can," he said.

Volunteers have come from all over to help. Doree Donavan is with White Oak Search & Rescue.

"There's some areas that are somewhat inaccessible because of cliffs and so on," she explained. "But we just know how important it is."

Anyone with information is asked to call State Police or the Fayette County Sheriff.
