Body Pulled From Allegheny River Identified

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the body that was pulled from the Allegheny River on Friday night.

According to the Medical Examiner's Office, an autopsy has been performed on the body of 54-year-old Roland Askerneese of Verona, but the cause and manner of death are still pending further investigation.

Police said the body was discovered after 6:30 p.m. near the Outboard Haven Marina on Arch Street.

Officials with the Medical Examiner's Office say Askerneese's body was apparently found underneath a boat.

The investigation continues.
