Teen Suspect Surrenders In Fatal Home Invasion

HILL DISTRICT (KDKA) – A teenagers is now in custody in connection with a fatal home invasion last month in Knoxville.

According to police, the 16-year-old suspect surrendered after SWAT officers surrounded a home in the 2500-block of Bedford Avenue in the Hill District yesterday afternoon.

His identity has not been released at this time, but he is being charged with criminal homicide.

Antwan Leake, 19, was shot to death during an apparent home invasion in the 300-block of Rochelle Street on Aug. 14.

Monday's arrest was the second in the case. On Friday, 19-year-old Jerod Cager was arrested during a traffic stop.

Police found two firearms, a plastic bag with 2,444 stamp bags of heroin and over $500 in cash in the vehicle at the time.

He was also charged with criminal homicide in addition to drug and weapons charges.
