Bobcats In The Backyard

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -- Karen Osler is asking supervisors in Connellsville Township for the right to keep three bobcats in a permanent enclosure on her half-acre property there.

If the supervisors do not approve Osler's request, the three cats would be euthanized humanely, Osler says.

NewsRadio 1020 KDKA's Mike Pintek talks with Osler about where the cats came from, as well as the locked enclosure she has built to house them and the security measures she has in place to ensure that they cannot escape.

Osler tells Pintek that she is simply trying to save the animals, and that she is more than qualified to care for them due to her years of experience at an orphanage for wild animals.  The seven-year-old cats have been raised entirely in captivity, and the two males have been neutered.

Listen to Mike Pintek every weekday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on NewsRadio 1020 KDKA!
