Man Robs 2 Businesses In Sewickley

SEWICKLEY (KDKA) -- Police are searching for a man who robbed two businesses in Sewickley.

He got away with more than $1,000. The robberies happened on Monday.

Allegheny County Police say the man walked into Yankello's TV and Radio Repair on Beaver Street, waited for the owner to become distracted and stole $300 from the office.

A few hours later, police believe the same man walked into Maria's Clothing, also on Beaver Street, asking the owner about clothing for his grandmother.

Police say the man once again waited for the owner to become distracted and stole $900 from her purse.

"He acts as if he's a customer and he was talking about some of the clothing for his grandmother and said he'd have to come back and just kind of put on the airs that he was just a customer in a store – didn't appear to be drunk or high or any way alarming to the store owners," Allegheny County Police Lt. Jeffrey Korczyk said.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-to-late 20's, about 5'10" to 6' tall with a slender build, fair skin and close cut light brown hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call Allegheny County Police or Sewickley Police.
