Power's Washington Discusses Tryouts, New Season

A year ago at this time, Pittsburgh Power wide receiver and former Aliquippa standout Mike Washington was no different from any of the young men with numbers on the backs of their shirts who were trying to earn the right to play football professionally in this city. Today, opposing defenses throughout the Arena Football League are pretty tired of seeing the back of Washington's shirt.

Washington played his way onto the roster for the team's inaugural AFL campaign, and this past weekend, at the team's second annual open tryout at Southpointe Fieldhouse in Cecil Township, "The Joystick" got the chance to work out, mentor, and help evalutate a new crop of aspiring pro footballers.

Here's what Washington had to say about his return to the Power, and whether he thinks Saturday's event was a fruitful one for the team as it tries to fill out its 2012 roster:
