Crews Work To Clean Up Elizabeth Water Main Break

ELIZABETH (KDKA) – A large water main break in Elizabeth Township caused some problems for homeowners Tuesday morning.

According to Pennsylvania American Water, a 10-inch line broke around 1 a.m. on Center Avenue.

The resulting break sent thousands of gallons of water rushing into the streets.

Water and mud piled up to the windows of some cars parked along the road. The basement of an apartment building also suffered water damage from the break.

Crews restored service shortly before noon, but the cleanup effort will still take some time.

Another break happened in the same area a little over a year ago.
