Local Firefighters To Hold Boot Drive For Slain Officer's Family
LOWER BURRELL (KDKA) -- Three local volunteer fire departments are coming together to raise money for the family of slain Lower Burrell Police Officer Derek Kotecki.
Firefighters from New Kensington, Arnold and Lower Burrell will be holding a boot drive from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
The firefighters will be collecting donations at Tarentum Bridge Road, Parnassus Triangle, the 9th Street Bridge in New Kensington and the Valley Highlands High School football game.
Kotecki was shot and killed outside the Dairy Queen on Greensburg Road in Lower Burrell Wednesday evening. He leaves behind a wife and two sons.
