New Images Of Suspected Purse Snatcher Released

GREENSBURG (KDKA) -- Police have released new surveillance video images of a purse snatching suspect.

A local woman, who did not want to be identified, was robbed outside the Bon-Ton at Westmoreland Mall.

The suspect ran up behind her grabbed her purse.

"Just out of habit I was holding on to my purse and got dragged to the ground for probably about 15 or 20 feet until the strap broke and then he ran away," she told KDKA-TV.

The victim suffered injuries to her jaw and needed stitches in her head.

The man got away with purse and everything inside, including her credit cards, cell phone and about $500 cash.

He went on a $1,000 shopping spree with the victim's credit card, buying cigarettes at the Choice Cigarette Mart, picking up a Red Box movie and buying a laptop at Walmart.

State police hope someone will be able to identify him.

"We will stop at nothing to try and arrest these people and put them behind bars," State Trooper Steve Limani said.
