2 Arrested After Police Chase Ends In West Homestead

WEST HOMESTEAD (KDKA) – Two people have been arrested after a theft and a police chase that ended in West Homestead.

It all started late Tuesday afternoon when the suspects allegedly stole TVs from Sears at Century III Mall.

West Mifflin officers got to the scene almost immediately. The suspects crashed their car into the two police cruisers in the mall parking lot then took off with police from West Mifflin and Baldwin in pursuit.

Ten minutes into that chase, the suspect's car rammed into a Baldwin police cruiser under the Glenwood Bridge.

"Our officers responded to the scene and the individual was sort of cornered in here, there was no escape route, so he turned around and appeared to intentionally ram one of our cars then got away on foot," Baldwin Police Chief Michael Scott said.

The suspects are now in custody. One of them was wanted on parole violations. K-9 officers were tracking a third suspect along the Monongahela River, but they gave up about 5:10 p.m.

No one was seriously injured.
