Overnight Low Near 30 To End Local Growing Season

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Rainy conditions and cooler temperatures have moved into the Pittsburgh area, and the temperature is expected to drop below freezing overnight.

KDKA meteorologist Dennis Bowman reports that showers will persist through the afternoon, ending during the evening hours.

Temperatures will slowly fall into the 30s by evening.

Bowman says skies are expected to become mainly clear late tonight and the first killing frost will cover the ground.

A low near 30 will end the growing season in the Pittsburgh area overnight.

Friday will feature some sunshine, but it will be chilly with a high of just 48.

Bowman say we can expect to get grazed by a shower or two on Saturday in what will be a mostly cloudy day with a high of 48.

Then, the weather will improve on Sunday with partly sunny skies and a high of 52.
