Authorities, Family Search For Missing Hill District Teenager

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are searching for a missing teenager from the Hill District.

Officials say 17-year-old Gloria Jones was last seen around 7 a.m. Saturday.

According to family members, Jones got up as usual to head out for class at CCAC. She's usually home by 12:30 p.m. but no one has heard from her.

"This is completely out of character for her," said family member Rhonda Ransom. "Gloria is 17-years-old in years, but mentally I'd say [she's] probably much [more] on an average of a 10, 11-years-old. We've had her in therapy going on now for probably about two to three years, and just maturity and emotionally she functions more like a preteen than someone 17-years-old."

Jones has hazel eyes and was wearing a black shirt, jeans and a red-checkered coat with fur around the collar.

She may have been seen on the South Side on Sunday.
