Lawrenceville Traffic Stop Leads To Major Drug Bust

LAWRENCEVILLE (KDKA) – A traffic stop in Lawrenceville led to a major drug bust Tuesday night.

According to police, officers spotted the suspect driving erratically in the 2600-block of Liberty Avenue and stopped him.

When detectives approached the vehicle they could see a clear plastic bag with pills that were later deemed to be Percocet.

The suspect, 34-year-old James Leonard, was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.

A search warrant was also executed at Leonard's residence in the 3400-block of Ligonier Street.

Police found over $12,000 in cash, 500 stamp bags of heroin, four pounds of marijuana, other drug paraphernalia and a Berreta,

Jones is facing a list of drug and weapons charges.
