PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – ROOT Sports high school football coordinating producer Craig McConnell joined 93.7 The Fan’s John Phillips, as he does every Saturday during the season, to discuss the First Round of the WPIAL Football Playoffs.

Seneca Valley’s win over Penn Hills in Quad-A action was seen live on ROOT Sports Friday, and Craig tells John why he’s not sleeping on the Raiders–and why no one else should, either. Craig also weighs in on whether or not Hopewell’s Rushel Shell can break the PIAA career rushing record against Franklin Regional next week.

In addition, Craig tells us which game in Class AA he’s keeping an eye on in the Quarterfinal round…

The WPIAL Football Quarterfinals kick off next Friday at various neutral sites to be determined. Check out the “Mr. High School Sports” blog next week for more on the next telecast of WPIAL fooball on ROOT Sports.
