Burglar Caught In The Act In Fayette County

GERMAN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A Fayette County man says a man he's known for years lured him out of his home so he could burglarize the place.

It happened at home in German Township Sunday night.

John Skovran says the suspect asked him and his friend, Nora Rafail, to go watch the Steeler game at a local bar, but never met them there.

Instead, he went back to the house and began loading electronics into a truck.

Skovran and Rafail went back to the house.

Rafail confronted the burglar. She blocked his truck in the driveway and took the keys out of the ignition.

The suspect ran off and was later taken into custody.

Rafail says she used to work for the prison system, so it was her instinct to get involved.

"I was just incensed that someone was taking advantage of a man who really can't take care of his own stuff," she said.

Skovran met Rafail about a week ago when he hired her to clean his house. He says it's the best decision he has made.

"I owe her big time," he said. "I mean, she's treated me really good."
