Man Loses Everything In Leechburg Fire

LEECHBURG (KDKA) -- It has been a devastating day for a Leechburg man and his girlfriend.

They were at work when they got the call that their home on Market Street was on fire.

When 22-year old Kyle McCain got home, there was little left of the house he's rented for the last two years.

"That's everything I own," he said. "I have nothing."

A woman delivering auto parts in the area noticed smoke coming from his house and became alarmed when she saw children's toys on the front porch.

Another passerby kicked in the front door.

A neighbor snapped photos of the house shortly after the fire broke out.

Kyle McCain and his girlfriend as well as another man who lived in the home were all at work but their four dogs died in the blaze.

An assistant fire chief was also taken to the hospital after he fell at the scene.

Kyle McCain says he did not have renters insurance and will look to the Red Cross for help.

A fire marshal will be on scene later today to try and determine a cause.
