Oil City Man Facing Charges After Fatal Accident

CORNPLANTER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- An Oil City man is facing charges following a deadly crash early Sunday morning in Venango County.

According to state police, 37-year-old Michael Stucke of Oil City has been arraigned on charges of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, DUI and other traffic related offenses.

State police say his passenger, identified as 53-year-old Mark O'Neil also of Oil City, died in the crash, which happened just before 1 a.m. on Route 8 near Quaker Drive in Cornplanter Township.

Authorities say the two were headed north in their Ford Focus when Stucke lost control of the vehicle, left the road and hit a fence, traffic sign, culvert and a utility pole.

The car ended up on its roof, officials said.

Stucke suffered a minor injury. State police say he is being held at the Venango County Jail after failing to post bail.
