Authorities Investigate Woman's Death In Westmoreland County

HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Authorities continue to investigate following a woman's death in Westmoreland County Sunday.

Police say the 911 call came in early Sunday morning for help. Emergency crews were then dispatched to Elkhart Street in Hempfield Township.

They have not released details about the call.

Sometime later in the day, state police launched what they describe as a death investigation at the location without releasing details into the death of 40-year-old Tina Marie Ohler of Irwin.

Investigators say her official cause of death is blunt force trauma to the body. The manner of death has not yet been released.

Crime scene investigators spent Sunday scouring the upstairs apartment.

Late Sunday evening, state police towed away a red pickup truck believed to be owned by Ohler, but no details will be released about the case until Monday.

Neighbors in the immediate area say they did not know the woman well.

An arrest has been made and State Police are expected to hold press conference on the case  Monday.
