PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — After opening the season with wins over Albany and Rider, Pitt rose to No. 9 in the latest AP Poll.

It makes the Panthers a consensus top 10 team, as they rank ninth in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll as well.

Pitt started the season Friday night with a 66-39 win over Albany. The Panthers followed that up on Sunday with an 86-78 win against Rider.

Here's the AP top 10:

1. North Carolina (62)
2. Kentucky
3. Ohio State (1)
4. UConn (2)
5. Syracuse
6. Duke
7. Florida
8. Louisville
9. Pitt
10. Memphis

The only difference in the ESPN/USA Today poll is the No. 7/8 spots. Lousiville is ranked No. 7 and Florida is ranked No. 8 in the second poll.

Pitt plays Long Beach State on Wednesday.
