Robert Morris Improves To 2-0
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — After managing just a two-point lead at halftime, 31-29, Robert Morris stormed out of the gates in the second half and beat St. Peter's Tuesday night, 69-52.
The Colonials outscored the Peacocks by 15 in the second half, due in large part to Velton Jones and his 19-point, seven-assist effort. Coron Williams had 13 points, Russell Johnson had 11 and Lijah Thompson had 10 as other Colonials in double figures.
Robert Morris shot 58.8 percent from 3-point range, hitting 10-of-17 behind the arc.
The Colonials trailed early on but took the lead with 11:24 remaining on two free throws from Lucky Jones. Robert Morris went on an 11-3 run to start the second half and never relinquished its lead, eventually winning, 69-52.
