Sources: Dan Onorato To Take Job With Highmark

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- County Executive Dan Onorato is moving on.

The KDKA Investigators have learned Onorato will be taking a job with Highmark.

Onorato has been Allegheny County Executive for eight years. He has been in government service for more than two decades.

Sources tell the KDKA Investigators Highmark has created a new position for Onorato.

Sources say the specific duties of that position have not been laid out yet. A specific title has also not been designated at this time.

In a statement released to KDKA Highmark said, "We don't normally comment on staffing and personnel decisions."

Onorato tells KDKA Investigator Marty Griffin "I cannot confirm or deny that report. I have been talking to several employers in the private sector."

Onorato is expected to start his new job at Highmark in six weeks or so, after his term as Allegheny County Executive expires.

Sources tell the KDKA Investigators Highmark is expected to finalize details with Onorato shortly.
