Police Seek Woman Who Bit, Robbed Man

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (KDKA) — Police are looking for a suspect in a bizarre broad daylight attack in Fayette County. According to Uniontown police, a petite, young woman bit a 76-year-old man on the neck on Sunday afternoon and robbed him.

"It's definitely a little bizarre -- especially to have a young female attack an elderly male like that and inflict that kind of injury," Uniontown Police Captain David Rutter told KDKA-TV.

The victim, who asked not to be identified, told investigators that the woman tried to flag him down as he drove past her outside Dusty's Bar & Grille on North Gallatin Avenue.

"Apparently he drove by and she flagged him down," Capt. Rutter explained. "He was going to that establishment anyway and he pulled into the parking lot. She approached him at the door, wouldn't let him get into the door."

Police say the unidentified suspect bit the man's neck, robbed him and ran off.

The victim told KDKA-TV that he planned to meet some friends at the bar to watch the Steelers game on Sunday and had just cashed his monthly pension check. He said the woman got away with about $800 along with his credit cards and keys.

While authorities have not yet made any arrests in the case, Rutter said he believes they will find the woman responsible. "We do have some leads that we're following up on now," Rudder added, "and I'm confident that we will make an arrest in this."

Uniontown police believe that it's possible that a passing motorist may have witnessed the attack. They're asking anyone with information to call them at 724-430-2929.
